THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a PAINTER-TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD2127000 and is part of the KY MATES, National Guard. ***NOTE: Indefinite employment is temporary and is expected to last more than one year but no more than five consecutive years.*** Continued employment is not guaranteed and is subject to annual competition.

Job Description

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT: Experience which demonstrates the knowledge of surface preparation (removal of rust, dirt, paint, etc); coating methods (brushing, rolling, and spraying); and coating materials (paints, varnishes, shellacs, etc). Must have the ability to use tools and equipment associated with the painting trade and to read and interpret directions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 18 months experience which demonstrates the knowledge of any surface preparation and coating methods and techniques. Experience building up, shaping, and leveling surfaces with metal and synthetic resins, plastics, and patching compounds; obtain finely smoothed surfaces with abrasive compounds, pumice, and rottenstone; even out dents and scars by burning-in processes; and treat surfaces with pre-coating agents. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Resume must have complete dates, work schedule, and/or hours worked per week for both civilian and military employment. (Example: 2 JAN 1980 to 3 MAR 1981; 0800-1630 M-F or JAN 1980 to MAR 1981; 40 hrs/wk) Use of year only and unspecified work schedule will result in disqualification.
