Job Summary
Office of Information Safeguards and Security Oversight (OISSO) serves as the primary point of contact and principal adviser to the DOJ on matters concerning management of information as a critical DOJ resource to the handling and protection of National Security Information (NSI), and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). OISSO establishes, administers, develops, issues, and monitors department wide policies, procedures, and standards for the protection of NSI and SCI.
Job Description
To qualify for the position of Physical Security Specialist, at GS-0080-12/13, you must meet the specialized experience stated below. For the GS-12: For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service implementing strict entry/exit protocols to individuals with proper clearances; and monitors physical security systems, to include Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), access control systems, CCTV and video surveillance or a security alarm monitoring system. For the GS-13: For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service reviewing design, construction and/or accreditation of a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility; implements strict entry/exit protocols to individuals with proper clearances; and utilizing physical security systems, to include Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), access control systems, CCTV and video surveillance or a security alarm monitoring system. You MUST meet all qualification requirements, including time-in-grade, by the 05/28/2026 of this announcement. Selection may be made at any grade level, with non-competitive promotion potential to target grade. Non-competitive promotion potential to the target grade based on time-in-grade requirements and demonstrated ability to perform the higher graded duties.
