Job Summary
This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent serves as the subject matter expert for the Division and provides oversight of technical and cybersecurity requirements and management of J-8 Warfighting and Analysis Division (WAD) integrated computing environment. .
Job Description
You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service: Applying systems administration and systems engineering theories, concepts, and methods to design, recommend, procure, test, integrate, operate, manage and maintain hardware/software replacement or upgrade to meet current and future requirements; Understanding IT principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices to design, build, operate, maintain, adapt, support, and recapitalize Directorate IT infrastructure to support large-scale modeling and simulation across multiple controlled areas; Preparing IT principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices to design, build, operate, maintain, adapt, support, and recapitalize Directorate IT infrastructure; Recognizing modeling and simulation workflow including post-processing of large-scale data. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
