Job Summary
This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will be responsible for Operations in the Information/Information Environment planning and developing comprehensive plans, integrate, coordinate, and synchronize Joint Concepts, Doctrine, Lessons Learned, Education/Training/Exercises, Joint Training Environments, and Analysis to achieve assigned missions.
Job Description
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Planning and conducting Operations in the Information Environment (OIE), involving the integrated employment of multiple information forces (e.g., civil affairs, psychological operations, public affairs, cyberspace, electromagnetic environment operations, and space operations) to affect drivers of behavior. Influencing relevant actors, information, information networks, and or information systems to meet Commander objectives. Developing and maintaining awareness of OIE policies, authorities, operational concepts, employment, tactics, techniques, and procedures. Providing subject matter expert guidance and recommendations on the Joint Operations Planning Process for OIE, including the production of Operational Plans (OPLANs), and Operational Orders (OPORDs). Communicating, verbally and in writing, OIE ideas, concepts, methods, analyses, and research to senior leaders at various Command levels/Congress/Inspector General/Communities of Interest. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
