Job Summary
This position is located in the Information Technology Division (ITD) Infrastructure Management Branch of the Chief Administrative Office (CAO). The incumbent oversees the planning, installation, configuration, testing, implementation and management of the systems environment in support of the agency's IT architecture and business needs. The incumbent provides AOC-wide support for the network infrastructure, servers, and Tier-3 support for desktop, mobile and printer endpoints.
Job Description
You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. It is available for your review on the OPM web site at OPM qualification standards Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, candidates must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as having experience performing program management tasks such as: (1) planning and developing program goals and objectives (e.g., full lifecycle of IT services); (2) project planning and management-developing, scheduling, coordinating and managing projects and resources (e.g., monitoring and inspecting costs, work and contractor performance); and (3) providing oversight for the delivery of various hardware and software solutions to meet operating needs. In addition to meeting the specialized experience stated above, applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
