Job Description
Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experirence requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes leading everyday operations of assigned shifts providing guidance on firefighter related procedures, expenses and personnel matters; applying expert knowledge in managing fire prevention and protection programs; assisting in fire protection and prevention training for a fire department; operating firefighting emergency vehicles and equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10). In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirement above, applicants must also possess Fire Officer III, Fire Inspector II, Fire Instructor II, HAZMAT Incident Commander, AND Airport Firefighter certified through DoD Fire and Emergency Services Certification System, International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC), or the Fire Service Professional Qualifications System (PRO-Board) in accordance with DoD 6055.06-M
