Job Description
AREAS OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of consideration for this position, Title 5 Excepted Service, will be in the following manner and sequence: The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be candidates who match through the Priority Placement Program (PPP). The SECOND area of consideration will be Veterans' Preference (VP) eligible. The THIRD area of consideration will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG. The FOURTH area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees. The FIFTH area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible. The SIXTH area of consideration will be all U.S. Citizens. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-9 Level. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-11 Level MUST possess at least 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level of GS-9: experience, education, or training performing periodic/unscheduled inspections of base facilities, warehouses, and equipment maintenance operations and evaluate compliance with applicable regulations and hazard system; recommend measures and methods to correct safety and occupational health deficiencies; participate in planning for testing of munitions, and assured integration of explosive safety criteria in testing procedures; review test implementation directives for inclusion of appropriate safety criteria; prepare supplements to regulations and manuals for aircraft weapons safety and developed local regulations defining applicable mishap prevention procedures. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
