This position is located in the Department of War (DoW), Office of Inspector General (OIG), Mission Support (MS), Logistics Management Office (LMO), Travel and Transportation Division (TTD). The incumbent serves as the Lead Defense Travel Administrator, (LDTA) and is responsible for the overall management of the Defense Travel System travel program.

Job Description

Time in Grade: Applicants must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-12) or equivalent within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is defined as: Experienced in administering and overseeing an organizational Defense Travel System (DTS) program and Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC) operations. Manage traveler and routing-official profiles, user permissions, appointment documentation, routing lists, and travel procedures. Review travel authorizations, vouchers, and management reports to identify improper payments, delinquency, misuse, and compliance issues; document corrective actions and coordinate resolution with travelers, approving officials, finance offices, and higher headquarters. Interpret and apply the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) and applicable Department of Defense and local travel policies. Provide DTS and GTCC training, customer support, and guidance to travelers and accountable officials, serving as a primary point of contact for travel-system troubleshooting, audit readiness, and program reporting. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience. Qualification and time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Applicants who have held a non-temporary General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must meet the time-in-grade restriction.
