Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with medical procedures related to ophthalmology/optometry; setting up medical equipment for medical procedures; and triaging and treating eye injuries or disorders. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Certified Ophthalmic Asst, Ophthalmic Tech, Ophthalmic Medical Tech (COMT), and Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) desired but not required.
