About the Position: Serves as a Supervisory Health Systems Specialist at Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth, Virginia who provides subject matter expertise for strategic and operational planning, organizing, staffing, decision support, and policy development. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. For qualifications determinations your resume must contain hours worked per week and the dates of employment (i.e., hours per week and "month/year" to 'month/year" or "month/year" to "present"). If a determination is not able to be made about the length of your creditable experience for qualification requirements, you will be removed from consideration. Supervisory Health System Specialist GS-13: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes oversight of Health Information Management or Patient Affairs/Patient Access operations; implement policies and procedures pertaining to patient affairs and patient accountability; assist with oversight of the administrative functions and program management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-12. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
