Job Summary

About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency (DHA), located at Fort Rucker, AL. The primary location within Lyster Army Health Clinic will be the in the Plans, Training, Mobilization, and Security Division supervising the clinic's guard force. This position is an Obligated - Term Position, Not to Exceed 3 years with the possibility of annual extensions. It is time limited and may be extended up to a maximum of 8 years. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.

Job Description

This position is a TERM position. It is time-limited and may be extended in one year increments up to a maximum of 8 years.This position may be converted to permanent career or career-conditional appointment without further competition as long as all requirements are met. To be eligible for conversion, employee must complete at least 2 years of current continuous service under a term appointment in the competitive service AND employee must have a current performance rating under such term appointment of at least fully successful or equivalent. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Securing and accounting for all weapons and ammunition in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations; and Providing leadership, oversight, and guidance to security personnel in security programs, i.e., guard force, access control, and crime control programs. And at least one of the following: Performing duties during emergencies, protecting and assuring life, health and safety. Conducting internal and external patrol of a facility to preserve peace and order. Maintaining records and preparing statistical or activity reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
