Job Summary
This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol (AOC), Office of the Chief of Operations, Executive Director, House Office Buildings, Assistant Superintendent, Tenant Services Division. The incumbent is a Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist and serves as Principal Manager of the Carpentry Branch, Masonry Branch, Paint Branch and the Sheet Metal Branch.
Job Description
You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Candidates for the GS-14 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as having experience: Planning and/or directing program management aspects of renovation and maintenance projects in the tracking of facility maintenance, preventive maintenance and/or corrective maintenance; Conducting activities over construction and maintenance operations performed by contractors, including reviewing project plans, specifications for workability and facility condition assessments; Managing and/or directing contract administration activities to include monitoring contractor activities through personal contact and/or review of performance data to ensure compliance with technical, financial and delivery requirements of the contract; and Performing administrative supervision of employees in the performance of facility maintenance and repair work.
