Job Summary
SIGN ON BONUS $3000.00 This position is located in Fitness Division, of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR), located at NAS JRB Fort Worth. The Supervisory Recreation Specialist (Sports Coordinator) is responsible for all team and individual adult sports at the installation. The sports coordinator is responsible for coordinating team and individual sporting events, conducting sports clinics, coordinating sports officials, and provides assistance to youth sports programs as needed.

Qualifying experience must have been equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Knowledge gained through relevant experience that enables the employee to competently and independently carry out sports programs through the proper application of principles, concepts and techniques of recreation to specific needs of the community to be served. Skills in the application and utilization of such knowledge in planning and carrying out an enhanced program in the recreation specialty are which meets, as fully as possible, the needs of the participating community. Skill in effectively organizing and utilizing all the available community resources within the program framework. Three (3) years of experience that demonstrates knowledge of the assigned program, CPR and the ability to independently develop and monitor a comprehensive fitness program for active duty military community. Has working knowledge of the assigned program(s). A degree from an accredited college in a related field may be substituted for two years of experience. Must be 18 years of age. National and state background checks are required. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
