For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the five competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. -AND- Specialized Experience: You qualify at the GS-11 grade level if you possess one of the following: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in Federal service, that demonstrates the ability to: 1) Deliver day-to-day operations, maintenance and user support on Microsoft Power Platform solutions; 2) Resolve common production issues; 3) Manage routine operational activities including validating and adjusting dataset refresh schedules and parameters, verifying on-premises data gateway health and service credentials, confirming secure connectivity to authoritative data sources, and implementing low-risk optimizations under change control in non-production environments prior to release; 4) Develop and delivering trainings, briefings, and job aids for use with Power Apps, Power Automate, and Microsoft Power BI; OR A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related; OR A combination of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience as described above that, when combined, equal 100% of the total requirement. NOTE: Only graduate education in excess of the first two years may be used to qualify for the GS-11 level. You qualify at the GS-12 grade level if you possess one of the following: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in Federal service, that demonstrates the ability to 1) Deliver day-to-day operations, maintenance and user support on Microsoft Power Platform solutions; 2) Resolve common production issues; 3) Manage routine operational activities including validating and adjusting dataset refresh schedules and parameters, verifying on-premises data gateway health and service credentials, confirming secure connectivity to authoritative data sources, and implementing low-risk optimizations under change control in non-production environments prior to release; 4) Develop and delivering trainings, briefings, and job aids for use with Power Apps, Power Automate, and Microsoft Power BI, 5) Collaborate with application developers, platform owners, cybersecurity personnel, data owners and stewards, business stakeholders, and vendors to support secure solution delivery and governed data access; 6) Execute IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) aligned processes for escalations and problem management. All qualifications and eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement. Background Investigation: To ensure the accomplishment of our mission, FLETC requires every employee to be reliable and trustworthy. To meet those standards, all selected applicants must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation for Suitability/Fitness as a condition of placement in this IT Non-Sensitive, Moderate Risk position. Physical Demands: The work is primarily sedentary, involving long periods of sitting and using a computer, but may occasionally require walking, standing, and carrying light items such as papers and books. The position may also involve occasional lifting of equipment or materials weighing up to 25 pounds, and the work requires manual dexterity for tasks such as typing, using a mouse, and handling small components. Work Environment: The work is performed in a typical office setting with adequate lighting, heating, and ventilation, but may require occasional travel for training, collaboration with other teams, or attendance at conferences and industry events. The position must adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment, and any travel or off-site work must comply with agency security and operational guidelines.
