Job Description

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709" and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 4: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard and are willing to become T32 Dual Status technicians. PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. Recruitment / Relocation: Incentive MAY be authorized. ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. FLNG BUS Code 8888: This position is "excluded" and ineligible for labor organization representation. POSITIVE EDUCATION: A degree in professional engineering is required; you must possess one of the following. A degree earned from a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation board for Engineering and Technology. OR A degree earned which includes differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced that first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) Strength of materials (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (E) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such a optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. NOTE: Engineer intern and engineer in training does not meet the selective factor professional registration requirement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS12: Must have at least one year of specialized experiences at the GS-11 level or the equivalent which provides knowledge and/or experience, education, or training for management, supervision, or performance of planning, designing, construction, and/or maintaining structures and facilities; and investigating, measuring, surveying, and mapping the earth's physical features; experience in managing the function of work to be performed; experience that includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
