Job Summary
Ideal candidates will have experience coordinating disaster recovery programs, applying emergency management policies and procedures, and working with Federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, nonprofit, and private-sector partners to support disaster survivors and impacted communities. They should be skilled in analyzing complex recovery issues, preparing clear written products and briefings, and advising leadership on program delivery, resource requirements, and operational improvements.
Job Description
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The qualification requirements listed below must be met by the closing date of this announcement. To qualify for this position at the GS-12 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following: Supporting the coordination and delivery of disaster recovery programs or services, including analyzing program requirements, resource needs, operational issues, or policy guidance to support those affected by disasters; and Preparing written products such as reports, briefings, information papers, guidance, or recommendations related to emergency management or disaster recovery; and Working with stakeholders, to share information, resolve recovery-related issues, or support implementation of emergency management programs. To qualify for this position at the GS-13 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following: Leading or managing the coordination, implementation, or evaluation of disaster recovery programs or operations, including applying emergency management laws, regulations, policies, or procedures to resolve delivery issues; and Serving as a senior advisor or technical expert on recovery programs by providing guidance and recommendations to stakeholders on disaster assistance, resource requirements, operational priorities, or program improvements; and Developing or reviewing recovery plans, policies, procedures, training, exercises, reports, briefings, or guidance documents, and coordinating with stakeholders to support recovery operations.
