Job Summary

In this position you will work as Watch Analyst of the Emergency Management Specialist team, RRCC Watch Office, Response Division, Region 3, Regional Office. The ideal candidate for this position has the ability to collect, analyze, and disseminate information to key personnel, ensuring immediate notification and warnings. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Able to lead process and product improvement within the organization.

Job Description

The qualification requirements listed below must be met by the closing date of this announcement. To qualify for this position at the GS-11 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following: Experience in at least 2 of the following aspects of operational support during a disaster or contingency response emergency communications, mass notification, executive briefings, intelligence analysis, hazard analysis, risk assessment, continuity of operations, inter-agency coordination; and Experience working in an Operation/Watch/Command Center; and Providing assistance in gathering, analyzing, and disseminating information that supports decision making; and Draft reports with limited supervision that are generally error free and properly formatted. OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related OR Combination of education and experience In addition to the minimum qualifications described above, you must meet the following selective factor to be considered qualified for the position: Rotating 12-hour shift work is required (including days/nights, weekends and holidays).
