About the Position: Supervises the Baumholder Training Area (BTA) and serves as the primary liaison of Range operations and scheduling issues at Baumholder. Serves as the Tactical Training Safety Specialist for he Baumholder Training Area (BTA). Manages the overall safety program for Baumholder Training Area and directs the technical work of Non-commissioned Officer safety personnel.

Selective Placement Factor Requirement: This position has a selective placement factor which must be met prior to employment and for continued employment. Must be able to speak, read and write the German Language at Level B2 or higher. Position requires fluency in the German language. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes; utilizing knowledge of applicable safety regulations, procedures and specific guidance coupled with the firing characteristics of weapons systems/ordnance sufficient to ensure that safety guidance is followed on ranges; AND the ability to communicate both orally and in writing in the German language to be able to negotiate training/safety issues.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
