About the Position: This position serves as a Special Operations Planner, GS-0301-12 responsible for assisting with developing, staffing, resourcing, and managing future operations regional plans and engagements to ensure successful execution of Operations, Activities, and Investments (OAIs) to support the Theater Campaign Order (TCO) and operational requirements. It is located in Stuttgart, Germany on Patch Barracks.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Researching policies and/or directives to effectively manage resources for planning needs and/or requirements; 2) Analyzing operations and/or activities to enhance planning efficiency for successful mission execution; AND 3) Identifying knowledge management tools and/or processes to consolidate relevant information and improve situational awareness. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). The following preferences are highly desired but not required for consideration: - Special Operations Planning Experience: Possesses experience within the Special Operations enterprise sufficient to apply an in-depth understanding of Special Operations capabilities and effectively integrate those capabilities into operational and strategic planning efforts. - Knowledge of Special Operations Capabilities: Demonstrates understanding of Special Operations forces, their mission sets, and related planning considerations to support the development, coordination, and refinement of operational plans. - Specialized Experience at the GS-11 Level: Has one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level performing duties as a Future Operations Planner, including conducting tactical and operational-level planning for engagements occurring from one month to three years prior to execution.
