Job Description
Specialized experience is the experience that has equipped you with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To meet the minimum qualification requirements for the grade CU-07, you must have one of the following (A, B, C, or D): A. EXPERIENCE: One (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to CU/GS-05 level (obtained in the public or private sector) that has equipped the applicant with the competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities) to successfully perform the duties of this position. This must include experience 1) providing clerical support in at least one of the following programs: staffing and recruitment, employee benefits, training and development, or employee performance management; 2) Gathering and compiling data to support reports or program activities; 3) Using spreadsheets or databases to enter, track, or update information; and 4)Responding to general inquiries or directing questions to appropriate staff. OR B. EDUCATION (Superior Academic Achievement): Completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree or higher degree in a course of study that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. In addition to the above degree/course work requirement, you must also meet ONE of the definitions of Superior Academic Achievement listed below: A grade-point average of "B" (a GPA of 2.95 or higher out of a possible 4.0) for all completed undergraduate courses or those completed in the last two years of undergraduate study. A grade-point average of "B+" (a GPA of 3.45 or higher out of a possible 4.0) for all courses in your major field of study, or those courses in your major completed in the last two years of undergraduate study. Rank in the upper one-third of your class in the college, university, or major subdivision. Membership in a national honor society (other than freshman honor societies) recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies. OR C. EDUCATION (Graduate-level): One (1) full year (18 semester hours or 27 quarter hours or the number of units the school you attended considers equal to one full year) of graduate education in an accredited college or university in a course of study that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. OR D. COMBINATION: A combination of graduate level education and experience described in "A" and "C" above. To combine education and experience, first take the number of semester hours or equivalent earned towards a graduate degree and divide by 18 semester hours or equivalent. Then take the number of months of full-time experience and divide by 12 months. Add the percentages together. The total must equal at least 100% to qualify. To meet the minimum qualification requirements for the grade CU-09, you must have one of the following (A, B, or C): A. EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to CU/GS-07 level (obtained in the public or private sector) that has equipped the applicant with the competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities) to successfully perform the duties of this position. This must include experience: 1) assisting in the administration of at least one of the following programs: staffing and recruitment, employee benefits, training and development, or employee performance management; 2) gathering and compiling data to support reports or program activities; 3) Developing or maintaining spreadsheets or databases to track and manage information; and 4) Responding to inquiries and providing information related to assigned program processes and procedures. OR B. EDUCATION (Graduate-level): Completion of two (2) full academic years of progressively higher graduate-level education, or a master's degree in an accredited college or university in a course of study that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. OR C. COMBINATION: A combination of education and experience described in "A" and "B" above. To combine education and experience, first take the number of semester hours or equivalent earned towards a graduate degree in excess of 18 semester hours and divide by 18 semester hours or equivalent. Then take the number of months of full-time experience and divide by 12 months. Add the percentages together. The total must equal at least 100% to qualify. To meet the minimum qualification requirements for the grade CU-11, you must have one of the following (A, B, or C): A. EXPERIENCE: One (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the CU/GS-09 level (obtained in the public or private sector) that has equipped the applicant with the competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities) to successfully perform the duties of this position. This must include experience: 1) Assisting in the administration of at least TWO of the following programs; staffing and recruitment, employee benefits, training and development, or employee performance management; 2) Preparing written materials in final format for signature by higher level officials ; 3) Developing or managing spreadsheets or databases to track, analyze, and report program information; and 4) Responding to inquiries and providing information related to assigned program processes and procedures. OR B. EDUCATION: Completion of three (3) full academic years of progressively higher graduate-level education or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a course of study that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. OR C. COMBINATION: Completion of an equivalent combination of acceptable graduate level education and experience as described above sufficient to equal 100% of the job requirements.
