This vacancy is for a Supervisory Grants Management Specialist in the Economic Development Administration within the Department of Commerce to support implementation of the Thomas R. Carper Water Resources Development Act of 2024 (Public Law 118-272) to support implementation of the FY2025 Disaster Supplemental Program and other EDA programs.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify at the GS-14 level: You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience: Leading cross-functional teams and managing workloads to achieve grants policy and compliance outcomes; AND Developing and implementing agency-wide financial assistance policy and training to ensure compliance with federal regulations, including 2 CFR Part 200, and agency policy; AND Managing grants management reviews and decision-making across the full lifecycle of grant awards, including pre-award evaluation, post-award oversight, and closeout to ensure compliance with applicable federal requirements; AND Serving as an advisor to senior leadership on grants management policy, using grants data analytics to develop recommendations that inform executive-level decision-making; AND Overseeing interagency coordination of audit inquiries, grants data requests, and special projects supporting strategic initiatives.
