Job Summary
This position is part of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency. The incumbent will be responsible for securing on-premise and cloud network infrastructures, focusing on vulnerability management and STIG compliance. The individual architects security baselines, resolves complex operational problems, and ensures system reliability against unauthorized access.
Job Description
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Serving as a technical subject matter expert for network system security, specifically in the area of on-prem and cloud-based network infrastructure and software support with specific focus on system vulnerability management; develops system procedures to ensure systems reliability and to defend against unauthorized access; provides service and support for system security by developing baselines and performing security hardening; keeps up to date with the latest Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) and develops efficient and effective methods for maintaining STIG compliance; manages, tracks and reports the status of the installation of security patches; performs system scans and reviews to ensure compliance with DoD requirements. Provides technical guidance, analysis, advice, and troubleshooting/problem resolution on a wide range of extremely complex operational problems (Level Ill) that impact DSCA enterprise operations; isolate, identify, analyze, evaluate, and resolve complex hardware, software and/or communications problems. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
