Job Summary
This position is part of the Defense Human Resources Activity. The incumbent will be responsible for for researching and investigating new or improved business and management practices for application to DoW travel programs or processes, notably for DTS. Analyzes management information requirements to develop program or administrative reporting systems. Prepares and provides information and metrics related to travel system functional requirements.
Job Description
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Skill in adapting analytical techniques and evaluation criteria to the measurement and improvement of program effectiveness and/or organizational productivity. Comprehensive knowledge of the laws, regulations, and policies governing DoD passenger travel to include the Joint Travel Regulations and the Financial Management Regulations, to effectively oversee the sustainment or implementation of DoD travel systems. Expert knowledge and the ability to extrapolate information from questionable or incomplete data, validate analytical conclusions, and integrate contributions from other analysts and/or subject matter experts to prepare analytical products and provide timely analysis to support ongoing or new travel support to the Departmental efforts through the Branch and Division chiefs. Representing the organization with other professional organizations in seminars and conferences. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
