Job Summary
This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of the Chief Readiness Support Officer (OCRSO), Facilities and Operational Support. The primary purpose of this position is to support the consolidation of the Department of Homeland Security Headquarters (HQ) in the National Capital Region (NCR). Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.
Job Description
Basic Education Requirements: Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position; OR Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience. Specialized Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as: Supporting the planning and analysis of consolidation projects by applying engineering principles to assess facility needs and develop strategies for unifying multiple locations. Experience in coordinating engineering activities for the design, construction, or renovation of facilities, including tracking project progress and ensuring compliance with relevant standards. Experience in conducting technical reviews and preparing recommendations to assist in the development and implementation of policies related to consolidation. You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as: Leading facility design and construction activities for major building projects, ensuring all engineering disciplines and requirements are considered. Coordinating engineering activities for the design, construction, or renovation of federal facilities, including tracking project progress and ensuring compliance with relevant standards. Conducting technical reviews and preparing recommendations to assist in the development and implementation of policies related to consolidation. Overseeing program operations, including master planning, building construction, mechanical and electrical systems, IT systems, and economic analysis. Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level. All qualifications and eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement.
