Job Description

This position is developmental and selections may be made at the GS-7, GS-9, or GS-11 entry grade levels. One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. To be hired at the GS-7 entry grade level, applicants must minimally have: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of a GS-05 within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as: experience applying fundamental principles, concepts, and practices related to business, accounting, and information systems to assist resolving routine issues; gathering data from various systems or reports for review; and researching basic policies or regulations. To be hired at the GS-9 entry grade level, applicants must minimally have: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the federal service which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as: experience applying financial and access control principles and practices to process and track information systems access requests; gathering and analyzing data and/or information systems to identify and resolve common issues; and researching policies and procedures to ensure that system access is handled in compliance with internal controls and applicable laws. To be hired at the GS-11 entry grade level, applicants must minimally have: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as: experience reviewing procedures and recommending process improvements on an information system access team; monitoring and evaluating access requests to prioritize workload to ensure compliance with internal controls; and analyzing the impact of applicable policies of information systems and recommending changes to maintain compliance Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
