Then Material Handler's primary duties include assisting in the receiving, storing, checking, re-warehousing, stock-picking, palletizing, packaging and shipping a large variety of line items of perishable and semi-perishable subsistence. Performs work of moderate difficulty in the warehouse environment sometimes under extreme temperatures as well as work of a physical and technical nature

For this requirement, a competitive appointment is one where you applied to and were appointed from an announcement open to "All US Citizens." Physical requirements: (1) Stand, stoop, kneel, bend and climb for prolonged periods. (2) Lift, push, pull, carry, and handle items weighing up to 40 pounds independently and occasionally over 40 pounds with assistance. You will attest to your ability to perform these physical requirements in the Questionnaire. This job has one critical element, called the screen-out element (SOE). The SOE addresses the critical knowledge, skill, and abilities essential to satisfactory job performance. Incumbent must be physically able to wear steel-toed safety boots and other personnel equipment provided. This position requires you to operate forklift.
