Job Summary

The Lead Financial Technician GS-0503-08 serves as the focal point for more complex payroll/accounting problems and inquiries. Provides technical/administrative guidance to and leads, three or more Financial Technicians up to grade GS-7. Responsible for planning and implementing work for a variety of financial services. Provides assistance and guidance to customers. Serves as liaison between DFAS-Columbus, DFAS Pensacola and customers to resolve issues with accounting, payroll, and travel claims

Job Description

You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 0503 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date. Your resume must clearly show that you have one (1) year of experience at the GS-07 level. Experience can be under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military. Volunteer Experience: Your experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including work done through a National Service program (e.g.Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience Examples of specialized experience include: Plan and Implement work for a variety of financial services (examination, audit, and verification of TDY/PSC orders). Maintain automated travel log in accordance with Joint Travel Regulations (JTR). Research and analyze employee pay related problems.
