Job Description
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-09) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1.) Extensive practical knowledge of the electronics, electrical, hydraulic, hoisting, mechanical and wire rope fields, with experience in maintenance and construction contract management as it specifically applies to elevators, escalators, dumbwaiters and other vertical transportation equipment. 2.) Ability to locate and accurately analyze abnormal conditions or problems whether actual or potential such as inadequate safety interlocks, improper design, poor performance or ASME / ANSI Safety Code violations. 3.) Knowledge of basic mathematics including algebra and geometry to perform engineering calculations relative to vertical transportation equipment inspections. 4.) Able to provides technical information and advice to those who design, test, produce, procure, supply, operate, repair, or dispose of VTE equipment. 5.) Generates detailed inspection reports assessing equipment condition, safety code compliance deficiencies noted, and makes recommendations for modifications to improve the safety, efficiency of use, and life span of the equipment.
