Job Summary

This position is located in the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), Office of the Chief Administrative Services Officer (OCASO), Logistics and Security Management (LSM), Physical Security Branch (PHYSEC).The Security Specialist is responsible for all aspects of mission related strategies, plans, policies, procedures, execution of associated contracts, and technical requirements for executive protection.

Job Description

To qualify for a Physical Security Specialist (Executive Protection) at the GS-14 level, you must meet the following requirements: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following types of tasks: Independently established and conducted Executive Protection operations, risk assessments, advance planning, interagency coordination, and real-time threat mitigation. Including advanced planning at off-site or non-secure locations, deployment of protective details, and execution of residential security assessments. Independently developing risk-reduction processes, protective intelligence integration, threat monitoring, and has the stated ability to provide risk-based recommendations to senior leadership with clear justification? Demonstrating the experience with monitoring intelligence, open-source information, law enforcement reporting, or social media for threat indicators, producing written intelligence products or situational reports. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
