Job Summary
As a Congressional Liaison Specialist at the GS-0301-13, you will be part of the Legislative Affairs Division, Office of Communications and Legislative Affairs, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). If selected, you will be responsible for performing tasks associated with inquiries from Members of Congress and their staff, responding to inquiries referred by the White House, and developing briefing materials for congressional engagements.
Job Description
For the GS-13: You must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes: providing advice and assistance to office personnel in implementing legislative affairs and congressional correspondence programs; preparing briefing materials, reports, or publications concerning congressional activities and the laws administered by the organization; preparing written and verbal responses to complex congressional inquiries for the director's approval. Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements within 30 days of the closing date specified in the vacancy announcement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
