IT Specialist (Enterprise Architecture) is responsible for assisting in defining and maintaining the Infrastructure architecture while, focusing on the structure, organization, and interoperation of hardware to support business requirements. Job Description

FOR THE GS-13 LEVEL IT Specialist (Applications Software) position: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-12 level) that may have been obtained in the private or public (local, county, state, Federal) sectors which demonstrates: Developing and maintaining cloud-native software solutions using full-stack technologies (.NET Platform, Java, and/or frameworks like Vue.js, Angular, React), databases (Microsoft SQL, Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, Cosmos, and/or DynamoDB), and cloud platforms (Azure Kubernetes Services, Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service, Amazon ECS, Azure App Services, and/or IaaS) AND Diagnosing and resolving issues related to performance, cybersecurity, outages, and errors across applications, databases, middleware, and cloud layers AND Using generative AI tools, such as GitHub Copilot, Amazon CodeWhisperer, Codeium, Tabnine, JetBrains AI Assistant, Cursor or similar AI large language models, to assist in secure software development and analysis. FOR THE GS-13 LEVEL IT Specialist (Enterprise Architecture) position: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-12 level) that may have been obtained in the private or public (local, county, state, Federal) sectors which demonstrates: Administering and supporting enterprise Linux environments (e.g., RHEL) using tools such as Red Hat Satellite. Interpreting IT policies, standards and guidelines; evaluating and recommending adoption of new or enhanced approaches to delivering IT and storage services. Performing installation, maintenance, modification, operation and coordination of the Linux, VMware, Windows operating systems. Installing and maintaining all hardware and system software and interfaces between systems; diagnosing system failures to isolate the source of problems between equipment, network system software, operating systems, application programs and recommending and/or taking corrective action. Developing and implement migration and backup strategies including planning for continuity of operations during the deployment of new server / cloud technologies. Managing special projects that have a significant impact on the delivery of customer support services, e.g., infrastructure or data relocation. Note: There is no education substitution for this grade level. In addition, all applicants qualifying based on experience must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Applicants must demonstrate possession of these competencies within the body of the resume; no separate statements addressing them are required. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
