Job Description
GS-12: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional industrial hygienist, developing criteria, procedures, or instructions to resolve problems involving health hazards to ensure compliance with applicable regulations for the occupational health and safety of shipyard personnel. Examples of qualifying specialized experience may include: responsibility for programs where workers are exposed to the wide variety of hazards including; chemical, physical, biological; conducting industrial hygiene sampling using; photoionization detectors, gas detectors, air sampling pumps, noise dosimetry, velocity meters, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation monitors, or other state of the art monitoring equipment. GS-11: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-9) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional industrial hygienist, conducting surveys or investigations of shipyard work operations to identify and evaluate conditions that may be hazardous to the occupational health and safety of personnel. Examples of qualifying specialized experience may include conducting surveys or investigations of the following: Chemical exposures and/or overexposures; Noise exposures and/or overexposures; Equipment and/or machine operations; Environmental conditions; Work practices; and Protective equipment. GS-9: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-7) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional Industrial Hygienist, performing surveys, sampling, and writing technical reports to evaluate health hazards in industrial shops or similar areas where the types of health hazards are anticipated. Examples may include the following: Chemical exposures and/or overexposures; Noise exposures and/or overexposures and Protective equipment. GS-7: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-5) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional Industrial Hygienist, calibrating equipment, taking samples, and preparing reports to assist with the evaluation of health hazards in industrial shops or similar areas workplaces where the types of health hazards are known. Examples may include the following: Chemical exposures and/or overexposures; Noise exposures and/or overexposures and Protective equipment.
