Job Description
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional Contract Specialist leading a full range of complex contracting operations by directing and approving high-risk/high-value source selection plans and contractual actions; and exercising signatory authority to issue decisions on claims and approve complex settlements or dispute resolutions; and providing strategic direction and establishing policies for advanced acquisition strategies to procure supplies or services for an organization. Basic Qualification Requirements for Contracting Officer Positions: In addition to meeting the basic educational requirement as well as the requirements above, applicants must have: 1. At least two years of experience in contracting positions; and 2. Completed all contracting courses required for a contracting officer for positions at the level and grade at which the person is serving. Certification at this level is sufficient to meet this standard.
