Job Description

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing safety and occupational health practices, principles, procedures, and standards; 2) Planning, managing, organizing, directing, operating, and evaluating the overall safety and occupational health program to include industrial, traffic and recreational off duty safety; 3) Evaluating and determining causal factors contributing to on/off duty mishaps and resulting in hazardous working conditions; 4) Determining compliance with building safety standards; 5) Devising hazard control measures applicable to facilities and supporting industrial shops; 6) Motivating personnel to apply safe working practices. The work may require some degree of agility and dexterity. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in both office and field settings and frequently involves being exposed to inclement weather, safety and occupational health hazards or additional demands and hazards where conditions cannot be controlled. The incumbent may be required to don personal protective equipment. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
