Job Summary
You will serve as a Supervisory Training Instructor (Command & Seamanship Training Squadron) within the Commandant Cost Center, in the Sailing Department of NAVAL ACADEMY.
Job Description
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Directing and designing sailing related training including establishing procedures, lesson plans, curricula, lectures, teaching aids and drills; 2) Providing on-the-water and classroom instruction; 3) Teaching navigation, basic water and boating safety, sailing and seamanship; 4) Guiding, leading and advising personnel and providing recommendations for improving other instructors, procedures, standards, and specialized equipment used in sailing/boating; 5) 6,000 Nautical Miles of offshore sailing experience; 6) Teaching Sailing to both young people and adults across all skill levels; and 7) Working with and following US Sailing's Safety Equipment Regulations.
