You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience GS-13: One year of specialized experience which includes applying industrial security policies and procedures to support Special Access Programs (SAP) or other sensitive government programs, conducting security compliance inspections or staff assistance visits at government or contractor facilities, and assisting in the review of security plans, contract documents, or policy to ensure compliance with established security requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Specialized Experience GS-14: One year of specialized experience which includes developing and implementing industrial security policies and procedures to provide oversight for Special Access Programs (SAPs), leading multi-functional security oversight inspections and investigations of contractor facilities to ensure compliance and mitigate security risks, and providing authoritative guidance and recommendations to senior leadership and program managers on complex security issues and requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12/13).
