You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience for current or former Federal employees serving on a career or career conditional appointment: One year of specialized experience which includes evaluating incoming inmate material or mail for compliance with regulations and using automated systems to maintain inmate fund accounts. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Specialized Experience for other than current or former Federal employees: One year of specialized experience which includes as evaluating incoming inmate material and mail for compliance with regulations; using automated systems/databases to track court cases or inmate records and assisting with processing court ordered collections for inmates. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Time in Grade Requirement for current or former Federal employees serving on a career or career conditional appointment: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05). *All applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and specialized experience requirements within thirty (30) days after the closing date of the announcements. IAW 28 C.R.R. Part 115, Prison Rape Elimination Act, the MCC shall not hire or promote anyone who may have contact with inmates, who: has engaged in sexual abuse in a prison, jail, lockup, community confinement facility, juvenile facility, or other institution (as defined in 42 U.S.C. 1997); has been convicted of engaging or attempting to engage in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force, or coercion, or if the victim did not consent or was unable to consent or refuse; or has been civilly or administratively adjudicated to have engaged in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force, or coercion, or if the victim did not consent or was unable to consent or refuse.
