Job Description

You must meet the minimum qualification requirements as stated in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Operating Manual, Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, http://www.opm.gov/qualifications/Standards/group-stds/gs-prof.asp. Specialized experience is defined as: For the GS-9: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade, GS-7. Specialized experience must be documented in your resume. Specialized experience includes: Performing administrative and business support functions such as coordinating office operations and schedules; preparing, reviewing, and routing correspondence and staff actions; supporting personnel, travel, records, events, supply/property, and time-and-attendance activities; applying administrative policies and procedures; and gathering and analyzing information to resolve administrative problems and improve office processes. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment.
