Job Summary

Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) mission is to lead the DoD in finance and accounting by ensuring the delivery of efficient, exceptional quality pay and financial information. Telework availability is limited and will only be provided on a rare case-by-case basis during situations where Agency Leadership has determined that telework serves a compelling DoD need.

Job Description

GS-09 level: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience assisting with the review of organizational structures and manpower resources to process updates and changes; AND performing research to assist with making recommendations for process improvements. GS-11 level: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as: Advising management by conducting analytical studies to optimize productivity and ensure the efficient, economical accomplishment of pay services mission requirements and formulate alternative strategies for corrective action. GS-12 level: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as: Manage an enterprise workforce tracking system and oversee the full lifecycle of its databases. Provide technical guidance to senior leaders and business managers. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
