Job Summary
This position is located in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Office of Strategic Operations and Regulatory Affairs (OSORA), Issuances, Records and Information Systems Group (IRISG). As a Records and Information Management Specialist, GS-0308-12, you will provide oversight in managing CMS' Records Management Program for both program mission and administrative records, regardless of medium or format.
Job Description

In order to qualify for the GS-12, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Analyzing, making recommendations, and applying knowledge of electronic records management policies during the development of IT systems; AND 2) Using automated tools, system-generated data, metadata, artificial intelligence, or analytics to assess electronic information repositories, identify records-management risks, and developing solutions for classification, retention, retrieval, migration, or disposition; AND 3) Developing metadata, taxonomy, classification, or information architecture requirements for electronic records and translating those requirements into functional specifications for automated information systems. Experience refers to both paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
