Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. GS-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1.) Answering emergency 911 calls conducting emergency and non-emergency call processing; 2.) Dispatching appropriate equipment/vehicles required for different emergency situations; AND 3.) Maintaining accurate log information and updating access rosters to ensure proper security and compliance of monitored facilities. Typing Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors. Condition of employment Expanded: Continuous current certification is a condition of employment. The incumbent is responsible for attaining continuing dispatch education (CDE) requirements through in-service training that is offered locally and pass in accordance with predetermined course requirements.
