Job Description
Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education/experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience GS-12: One year of specialized experience in the Federal service which includes: developing detailed cost estimates from the construction contractor's viewpoint; providing cost estimates and related advice in recommending changes in design or materials to permit the construction of a less costly project; providing cost engineering assistance in modification negotiations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above). This position also has an educational requirement. Minimum Education Requirement for series 0801 - General Engineer, 0810 - Civil Engineer, 0830 - Mechanical Engineer, 0850 - Electrical Engineer: Engineering: Bachelor's degree (or higher) in engineering. The program must: lead to a degree in a school with at least one program accredited by ABET. Degree must be documented on a transcript. Minimum Education Requirement for series 0808 - Architecture: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree that included a major field of study or specific course requirements.
