About the Position: Serves as a Technical Economic Specialist responsible for the initiation, formulation, planning, execution, and control of economic and financial activities for Civil Works projects for flood control, navigation, beach erosion, ecosystem restoration, recreation, and water supply. Sits on District Technical Review Team conducting reviews of Planning reports and is responsible for adherence to Economic and Environmental Principles and Guidelines for Water Resources Studies.

Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirement for Economist: OR A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in economics that includes 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major in economics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting water and related land resource planning, economic analysis, and studies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Specialized Experience GS-13: One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing water and land resource planning, economic analysis and study products. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
