About the Position: As a Lock and Dam Equipment Repairer Supervisor, duties will include serving as Federal Wage System (FWS)Supervisor (Lockmaster)at a large navigation lock and dam within the Inland Marine Transportation System (IMTS).

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Lock and Dam Equipment Repairer Supervisor without more than normal supervision. I am skilled in 1) planning the use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities and materials; 2) assigning work to individual employees involved in lock and dam operating and site maintenance activities; and 3) performing the full range of repairs at lock and dam sites. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed..- Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical Effort: Work requires frequent standing, stooping, stretching, climbing and crouching. Lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. May occasionally lift and carry items weighing over 50 pounds. Uses coordination of eyes, hands and feet, and also of legs and body in installing, repairing, or testing equipment in confined areas such as manholes, enclosed switch gear structures, or on overhead structures. Climbs ladders and poles. Working Conditions: Works inside and outside, subject to changing climatic conditions, loud noises, prolonged standing, falling, water hazards, drowning, cuts and bruises. Works in cramped places and is exposed to dirt, grease, fumes, and dust; works around heavy construction machinery, with and around power shop equipment. Occasionally will work behind bulkheads or in tunnels below water level.
