Job Summary

About the Position: This position is part of the Reemployed Annuitants Cadre. On an as-needed basis, employees occupying these positions provide emergency support to disaster-stricken areas throughout the United States. Employees in support of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). This position is a temporary position not to exceed (NTE) 1-year, however, at the discretion of management, the position may be converted to a term position up to a maximum not to exceed (NTE) 4-years.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes serving as expert planner, analyst, and advisor to agency management on program issues for key agency programs; conducting cost comparison and benefit studies of current or projected programs for the agency; assisting the organization with programming, analysis, and control of funds; evaluating program planning and execution, identifying actual or potential problem areas for the agency; and preparing a multitude of specialized budget summary reports for submission to the participating organizations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Budget Administration Organizational Awareness Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
