About the Position: This position supports a division that delivers engineering and science programs across Alaska, including infrastructure, military facilities, and environmental cleanup. The role also supports safety programs and operations such as construction and waterway maintenance.

Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirement: This position has a basic entry requirement. The entry requirement requires completion of education or a combination of education and experience sufficient to be comparable to that normally acquired through the completion of a 4-year course of study with a major in the professional or scientific field. Please refer to the Office of Personnel Management Individual Occupational Requirements for possible ways to meet the basic requirements. Basic Requirement for Engineers 801/810/830/850: General Engineering Series 0801 (opm.gov) Basic Requirement for Architecture 808: Architecture Series 0808 (opm.gov) In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: GS-14 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service which includes managing and directing staff, engaged in planning, design and construction, construction contract administration, in any or all of the following engineering programs: regulatory, Formally Used Defense Sites (FUDS), Base realignment and Closure (BRAC), emergency management and/or support for other programs (SFO); Civil Works, AND/OR Military Projects construction for Army and Air Force installations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13 or above). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Selective Placement Factor: This position requires a current registration as a Professional Architect and/or Engineer (PE). Time in Grade Requirement GS-14: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
