Job Summary

About the Position: Incumbent will serve as a Safety and Occupational Health Specialist, responsible for the creation, development, implementation, and ensuring compliance with Safety and Occupational Health Standards. Under the guidance of the Safety and Occupational Health Manager, the incumbent will be responsible in managing the policies, directives, and regulatory requirements for the St. Paul District Safety Program.

GS-12: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1)Providing guidance on safety regulations, policies, procedures, and standards; (2) Developing techniques to control and/or eliminate hazardous conditions; (3) Performing field surveys of construction and maintenance work sites for compliance with policies and standards; and (4) Presenting briefings and reports for presentations and/or meetings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
