This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is located in the St. Paul District. You will be assigned to a large self-propelled hydraulic pipeline dredge (20" discharge) engaged in dredging operations of channels and harbors on the Mississippi River. Official duty station is the Dredge Goetz.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Engineering Equipment Operator without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common duties which include: general equipment operation of all sizes of bulldozers, excavators, crawler type machines, front-end type loaders, outboard motors, power hoists, capstans and winches. Making minor repairs to equipment and performing preventive maintenance such as checking all oils and fluids, air filters, batteries, monitoring gauges, and monitoring track condition and tension. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
