Job Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Performs maintenance and repair on diesel engines, transmissions, cranes, bulldozers, winches, and electrical systems aboard the Dredge Goetz. Assists with watch standing duties and supports other mechanics to ensure continuous, safe operation of floating plant equipment.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a Heavy Mobile and Marine Equipment Mechanic without more than normal supervision. I can perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, cranes, and electrical systems; disassemble and rebuild parts; adjust equipment for proper operation. Work is under supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who reviews work for completion. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
