About the Position: Works under general Supervision of the Operations Manager and the Assistant Operations Manager. Assignments are received in terms of general objectives with timeframe for completion. Incumbent is expected to complete assignments independently in accordance with existing directives and policies. Supervisor is usually, but not always, available to provide advice and assistance. Discusses controversial problems and matters of policy with supervisor.

Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirement for Natural Resources Specialist: A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year experience which includes assisting in developing long and/or short-range plans for forestry, fish and wildlife, and/or a multi-use lake project; formulating operating procedures to preserve natural resources and/or emergency procedures for environmental situations; and assisting in implementing plans for management of fish and wildlife, forestry, and/or silvicultural practices. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-01/GS-04).
